I haven’t had a lot of time to post. Midterms are kicking my ass. I would like to share a link that once again involves my city and this upcoming election. If this election isn’t over soon, my head may explode.

This story involves this proposal that is on this years ballot:

“City and County of Denver Ballot Question Initiated ordinance 300—shall the voters for the city and county of Denver adopt an initiated ordinance to require the creation of an extraterrestrial affairs commission to help ensure the health, safety, and cultural awareness of Denver residents and visitors in relation to potential encounters or interactions with extraterrestrial intelligent beings or their vehicles, and fund such commission from grants, gifts and donations?”

Really? Without any proof or evidence of an extraterrestrial race, this Peckman fellow wants the fine people of Denver to fund his nerd club. If there was proof of aliens, that are just as or more evolved than us, possess the technology to visit our planet (but seem to always get secretly captured by our government), and love to ass rape us and make crop circles, and the task was needed, I’d still vote no.

It would be a serious disappointment to me if people are duped into wasting time and money on this sham. A fuzzy picture or video is not any kind of real evidence. If we did see visitors in the sky, that doesn’t mean Peckman and his buddies would know how to communicate or how to deal with them any more than our elected officials. He couldn’t make us safer or more “culturally aware” of anything because there is nothing for him to base policy off of.

Nothing sucks like being buried alive under Chemistry and Trigonometry homework and knowing that douchebags like Jeff Peckman can use pseudoscience and pure quackery to extort a city.

Amen. This is a vacuum of critical thinking!
